New Types of Shakespeare
Brief: Using your given quote, create a typographic piece to celebrate 400 years of Shakespeare. Response: The quote I was given was ‘Trust no one, for oaths are straws, men’s faiths are wafer-cakes, And Holdfast is the only dog, my duck.” This translates in to modern English as ‘Trust no one. For oaths are as easily broken as straws, and men’s faith crumbles like crackers, and you can only rely on what you can hold onto.’ To show that oaths and faiths are easily broken I decided to print the two words on to glass and then smash the glass.
